The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland (MI) will host its 2009 graduation on Friday, June 19. Graduates will receive their advanced diplomas, diplomas and certificates during a ceremony in the MI gymnasium, beginning at 2 p.m. Watch the graduation ceremony.

Career Search 2008 indicates Marine Institute graduates are well positioned to begin meaningful careers once they have earned their degrees, diplomas or certificate.The provincial study released yesterday shows MI students are not only finding positions; but positions that are garnering high wages and the ability to work in the province.

MI's Chris Keats knows the value of an education. Keats, a MI graduate and a demonstrator with the Marine Institute’s School of Ocean Technology (SOT), recently picked up a Master of Environmental Science degree from Memorial University and already has his sights set on his next academic target.
